Though most of the 1st Cav has moved north to I Corps near the Demilitarized Zone, C 2/5 Cav continued operating in eastern Binh Dinh Province in the Bong Son Plains. The Tet Offensive began on January 30th. By mid-month, Comanche had joined the rest of the division and took up security at Camp Evans.
