CPT Carl Danko

carl.j.danko@us.army.mil

I Would just like extend my thanks to all who served with C 2/5 CAV during Vietnam, and all who made this website possible. Knowing your history and where you came from is a powerful thing. I always point new Soldiers to this site so that they can connect with their lineage. Charlie Company is again deployed and serving in Iraq, set to be among the very last to leave. Though we are now a tank company we still look to the old hands for inspiration. Thank you again. Carl J. Danko CPT, AR Commanding C 2-5 CAV Crazyhorse

I've viewed the site many times, but this is my first visit to the guestbook. I enjoyed reading it. I plan to attend the 1st Cav reunion in June and the 2nd/5th reunion in the fall. I really look forward to seeing comrades from the past. Even though we may not have known each other in Vietnam, we share a common bond that can never be broken. God bless

I can identify one of you unknown troopers. We worked together before the Army, were at Ord together and met up at FSB St. Barbara, Tay Ninh province. Who can I write to about updating his entry?

if he gets on to the cav web site, i'de like to talk with the guy that was wounded by our own mortar round along with 13 other guys. i was sitting near him watching the tubes were being loaded, and one went off about a foot out of the tube, he was hit in the left side, and had a hole about the size of a fifty cent piece at his waist. i bandgaged the wound and talked with him and tryed to keep him calm and let him know he was going to be ok...hope he reads this and everything is ok with him...

I was in C 2nd of the 5th from Jan to Dec. 1970. I believe it was the 2nd platoon, with Lt.Lucky and Cpt. Anderson. So far have located two of my brothers and am always thrilled to hear from more.
