March - Exact Dates Unknown

After the cessation of combat operations, the company began to dissolve.  After a battalion awards ceremony,  weapons were turned in, and those with significant time left on their tour of duty in Vietnam left for new assignments.  Soon, all that was left were the Battalion Commander, LTC Bieri, the battalion Sergeant Major, the battalion staff, and the company commanders, including our own Dolf Carlson.

One of those who was reassigned was Donald Hewitt, a medic with company headquarters.  He had enjoyed a brief time back in the States for the birth of his daughter, then retuned to the company.  After the stand down, he was reassigned to the 8th Field Hospital in Nha Trang to help with its stand down.  (Sources:  Kuzriel Mier and Dolf Carlson)
