C 2/5 Cav - October 1970

Summary - October 1970

The 2/5 Cav began the month working out of FSB Silver, located 35 clicks east of Xuan Loc. The firebase was originally opened by the 199^th Light Infantry Brigade, but when that unit left Vietnam earlier in October, it was abandoned. C 2/5 Cav was engaged in a firefight. As a result of that action, Mike Combs was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device.
